Seasonal Cleanup in Oakland, FL
We walk your yard before we touch a rake. Then we tell you what needs doing, what can wait and what it will cost. After that we clear leaves and debris, cut back tired or damaged plants and leave your home's beds and lawn ready for the season ahead.
What a seasonal cleanup does for your yard
A seasonal cleanup is a reset. Over a few months, leaves pile up in beds, shrubs get leggy, weeds move in and dead growth hides in the plants. One good cleanup clears all of that so your lawn and beds can grow well again.
Timing matters. Live oaks let go of a heavy load of leaves as winter turns to spring, and a cold snap can leave hibiscus, ixora and other tropicals brown at the tips. Getting beds opened up and drains cleared before the summer rains saves trouble later.
We start every job by looking. You get a plain list of what we found, from matted leaves smothering grass to a shrub that is past saving. You decide what goes on the work order.

What's included in a cleanup
- 01
Leaf and debris removal
We clear leaves, twigs, fallen palm fronds and storm litter from the lawn, beds and along the edges of your home. Wet oak leaves can mat down and choke grass, so we get them out of the turf, not just off the top.
- 02
Shrub and perennial cutback
We trim back overgrown shrubs and cut cold-damaged growth to live wood. We wait until the risk of frost has passed before cutting tender plants hard, so new growth does not get hit again.
- 03
Bed weeding and edging
We pull weeds by the root, clean up bed lines and re-cut edges along walks and the driveway. Crisp edges keep grass from creeping into beds.
- 04
Light mulch or pine straw top-up
If beds just need a refresh, we can add a thin layer. If the beds need full work, our Mulch and Beds service covers that in more depth.
- 05
Haul-away
Everything we cut, rake or pull leaves with us. We blow off hard surfaces before we go.
Questions about Seasonal Cleanup?
Call(407) 792-5732Signs your yard is ready for a cleanup
Leaves are sitting in the grass
Thick leaf cover blocks light and holds moisture. That invites fungus and thin, yellow patches in St. Augustine lawns.
Plants look brown after a cold night
Brown or crispy tips on tropical shrubs mean the cold reached them. The damaged growth needs to come off once the weather settles.
Beds have lost their shape
When you cannot tell where the bed ends and the lawn starts, weeds and grass have taken over the edges.
Debris is piling up after storms
Fronds, branches and leaf litter collect against fences and in corners. Left alone, it holds water and gives pests a place to hide.
Water pools after rain
Leaves and soil can block low spots and drains in beds. A cleanup opens them up before the heavy rains start.
How a cleanup day goes
- 1
Walkthrough and findings
We walk the whole yard with you or on our own, whichever you prefer. We point out what we see, including anything we think is not worth paying for yet. You get a clear estimate before any work starts.
- 2
Clear and rake
The crew starts with leaves and loose debris so we can see the ground and the plant bases. That often turns up things we will mention to you, like a broken sprinkler head or a dead shrub.
- 3
Cut back, weed and edge
We trim and cut back plants, pull weeds and re-cut bed lines. If something looks diseased or past saving, we ask before removing it.
- 4
Haul-away and final look
We load out the debris, blow off walks and the driveway and walk the yard one more time. If we spotted anything that needs separate work, we tell you plainly and leave it up to you.
What moves the price of a cleanup
Two yards the same size can cost very different amounts to clean up. It comes down to how much material there is and how long it has been building up. We price it after the walkthrough, line by line, so you can see where the cost comes from. If your cleanup is one piece of a larger project, ask us about financing: up to $100,000 on 2–12-year terms, no prepayment penalties.
- Volume of leaves and debris
- A yard under several mature oaks fills a lot more trailer space than an open lot. Haul-away is often the biggest single piece of the cost.
- How long since the last cleanup
- Beds that have gone a year or more need deeper weeding and heavier cutback. A yard kept up each season costs less to clean.
- Amount of cutback
- A few cold-burned shrubs is quick work. Overgrown hedges or a lot of frost damage takes more time and creates more debris.
- Access to the work
- Narrow side yards, fenced areas and slopes mean more hand-carrying. Open access lets us move faster.
- Extras you choose
- Mulch or pine straw, bed reshaping or a few new plants add to the total. We list each one so you can keep or drop it.
Seasonal cleanup questions
When is the best time for a cleanup here?
Late winter into early spring is the busiest time, after the last cold snap and when the oaks drop. A second cleanup in fall, after the summer growth, keeps things from getting away from you. We can talk through timing on the walkthrough.
My shrubs got burned by the cold. Should I trim them now?
We'd hold off. The brown leaves look rough, but they act like a blanket for the live wood underneath if another cold night rolls in. Once the cold weather is behind us, we trim back to healthy growth.
Do you take all the debris away?
Yes. Leaves, branches, weeds and clippings leave with us. You will not be left with bags at the curb.
Is a cleanup the same as your Property Cleanup service?
Not quite. A seasonal cleanup is the regular reset for a yard that gets looked after through the year. Property Cleanup is for yards that have been neglected or overgrown for a long time and need heavier clearing.
Will you tell me if something needs more than a cleanup?
We will. If we find a struggling lawn, a broken sprinkler or a tree limb hanging over the roof, we tell you what we saw and what we would suggest. Whether you add it is your call.
Do you serve towns outside Oakland?
Yes. We do seasonal cleanups in nearby areas like Winter Garden, Ocoee and Windermere. Ask when you call and we will let you know.
